PROSTATE

WHAT IS PROSTATE AND WHAT ARE THEIR ALARM SYMPTOMS?

The prostate is a gland the size of a walnut. If the prostate grows too tight, it compresses the urethra. This overgrowth may be due to benign prostatic hyperplasia or prostate cancer.

Alarm symptoms to study:

  • Feeling of incomplete bladder emptying.

  • Urinate constantly in small jets or urine several times at night.

  • Urinary stream is abruptly cut, diminished in caliber or weak.

  • Make an effort to urinate or have urgency.

  • Bleeding in the urine.

We have for you early diagnosis methods:

It is essential for the male to become aware of the role of prevention by performing the prostate antigen in the blood after age 40 and paying attention to the symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia and cancer.

  1. The prostate antigen in the blood quantifies substances that can produce the cells with the capacity to malignize. It is recommended to perform SPECIFIC PROSTATE ANTIGEN and FREE FRACTION once a year from the age of 40.

  2. Perform an ABDOMINAL PROSTATE ULTRASOUND to know the size of your prostate.

  3. If you have a sensation of bladder emptying, you need to perform a TRANSRECTAL PROSTATE ULTRASOUND to rule out the possibility of cancer.

  4. If there is an increased number of times when you urinate in less than 24 hours and you do not want an invasive procedure, you can perform a PROSTATE RESONANCE to rule out the possibility of having prostate tumors.

  5. In case any of the results of the studies are suspect to cancer, you must immediately perform the PROSTATE BIOPSY to confirm if it is a malignant tumor or not, and start treatment immediately if necessary.

Early detection of prostate cancer, allows us to act immediately and prevent the spread of cancer by the body. If you have a history of prostate cancer in direct relatives such as sibling or parent, the checkup must be started earlier.

Do not leave what really matters for the end!
